Damn you Taxi's and Auto's!!!! grrrrrr! :-X

How many of u have literally found yourself begging for the damn taxis/auto with teary eyes?
I know most of you have experienced this a million times........
Today i had gone to Kanjurgmarg to my sister's place, we got down at the station and started to ask for auto rickshaw's to her aparment, and as if that area was taboo not a single "autowalla" was willing to ferry us to that destination, i was felling like i wanted to rip the head out of the next autowalla that said NO to us, i rly did!!!
And after about 20 mins of constant begging did we get a autowalla!!!
This was just one of the incidents that i have faced......
During one afternoon, i had to go to sion-koliwada for stitching my jeans (wat?? i cant afford Levi's et al [;)] )so i started at my house which is in matunga and i reached all the way upto king's circle, there one of the cabbie said "Koi sardar ko pucho, wo zaroor aayega", as if he was putting gasoline in my already burning rage, i lashed out at him, giving him a earful, i literally shouted on top of my voice that "if u dont want to come to the place i want to go, then bha***** take me to the place u effing want to go!!!" and i must add i had become as red as a tomato!!!! [:D]
Then one fine evening i was at wadala returning after an errand and i wanted to go to matunga, not a single effing cabbie obliged........not a single effeing cabbie!!! i was enraged, i was VERY VERY enraged, so i shouted at the next cabbie that "bhosa***** matunga tak chalke jaau kya??"
So i decided that from next time i am going to give my piece of mind to the third unlucky cabbie that denies me!!! and boy! how many cabbies had to feeling my wrath!!!

And what actually enraged me EVEN more is the fact that Cabbie/Rickwallas cant really say no to a passenger....
I had seen an advert on some news channel which said that "if a cabbie/rickwalla says no, we can complain to the RTO and have his license cancelled"

As per the Maharashtra Motor Vehicles Act, Section 22 (d) 178 (3) (b), "Auto rickshaw driver Refusing to ply for hire" attracts a penalty of Rs. 100, and it goes up to Rs. 200 for a Taxi refusing to ply.

In simple terms, if an auto rickshaw or a taxi is plying on the road, with its meter UP showing "FOR HIRE", they will HAVE to go wherever the passenger wants to go, IRRESPECTIVE of the distance.

So,
We DO NOT need to ASK the Auto/Taxi driver whether he will take us to a particular destination. Instead simply hail an auto/cab and GET IN first and then tell the driver to take you to the desired destination.

The Driver cannot ask you to get down from his vehicle. He will have to ferry you to your destination.

If he tries to get physical, simply call up 100 from your cell phone and inform them about the location of the auto/cab and the Registration number.

If you have complaint against any Auto/Taxi driver who refused to ply to your destination, you can lodge a complain against him using the Mumbai Traffic Police Website:
http://trafficpolicemumbai.org/Complaint%20Form%20aginst%20ART.html

Or you can simply fax your complaint to 022-24927237,24924734,24925462

You can also email the Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) at jcptraffic@trafficpolicemumbai.org and jcptraffic@gmail.com

Here's what The Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Mr. Hemant Karkare had to say about auto/taxi drivers who refuse passengers :

"The city’s taxi drivers are duty-bound. They cannot refuse to take a passenger to a destination within the city limits, and can be penalized under the Motor Vehicles Act if they do so. When a driver refuses to comply, you must complain to a constable or at a police station. Make sure to note the taxi’s number. You can also complain via email or post. We verify the complaint and take appropriate action. The driver is asked to pay a fine of Rs100, or his license is taken away. Taxi drivers refuse to go to some places because they might not get return fare. Sometimes they have finished work and are on their way home. However, none of these reasons is acceptable."

—Hemant Karkare. Joint commissioner of police

SO, Don’t take it lying down, don’t take NO for an answer.. Show them that now you are empowered!!!
Let the auto/taxi drivers know that they cant take us for granted anymore.. Show them who's the BOSS !

until next time this is nuspeed thinking of profanity and slanf terminology for cabbies/rickwallas......
chaooo and Dont take NO for an answer.......
cyaaa........

Oh my god I KNOW! It is *so* annoying. Here I am, all tired and unable to walk, and none of the taxi walas are ready to take me home! Same with rick walas in Bandra. Most of them refuse to ferry me from Hill Road to the station. I mean seriously WTF! And yeah it's totally against the law to refuse to take a passenger anywhere. But even then, till date I've never gotten the cops involved, nor do I think I will.
